BUG:
The communications layer, ECUCommServer (or ECUComms2000), does not go away when the main application
is shutdown.
Version: ALL
Operating System(s): ALL
Description:
Periodically, the low-level program(s) that handles communicating with the
ECU gets caught in a situation that does not allow it to perform its
own exit routine when the Digital Wrench is shutdown. This will more
than likely cause any subsequent attempts to launch the Digital Wrench to fail.
Cause:
There is an internal system conflict and if the Digital Wrench is
shutdown when the conditions for this conflict are right, ECUCommServer (or ECUComms2000)
will not go away.
Solution: Manually kill the ECUCommServer or (ECUComms2000) program.
Windows NT/2000:
1. Press CTRL+ALT+DELETE.

2. Click on the Task Manager button.

3. Select EcuCommServer (or ECUComms2000) in the Task column and then click on the End Task button.
4. Try starting the Digital Wrench again. It should start up without any problems.
Windows 95/98/ME:
1. Press CTRL+ALT+DELETE.
2. Select the EcuCommServer (or ECUComms2000) item from the list.
3. Click the End Task button.
4. Try starting the Digital Wrench again. It should start up without any problems.
